Associate Professor Lt Col Dr Tahira Amjad (R) of Community Medicine Department is associated with Foundation University Medical College for the last 10 years. She has a long work experience of more than 37 years including her meritorious service in Army Medical Corps. This includes her services in clinical and hospital management along with primary health and community health care. She possess a teaching experience of more than 11 years; both undergraduate and post graduate. She remained an active Quality Management Representative of ISO certification Project of a public health hospital and has contributed towards ISO Certification of FUI as additional QMR and focal person of FUI in the certification process. Besides faculty of Community Medicine, she has also worked as Assistant Director Exam Cell-FUIC and is actively involved in developing Smart Question Bank of FUMC. As incharge Students Mentoring Programme of FUMC, she possesses a close bonding with her students and always available as a mentor. She is recognized as a dedicated, passionate, hardworking and a futuristic person.

She graduated from Peshawar University and did her Master’s in Public Health from University of Health sciences Lahore. Besides an academician, she is a lifelong learner and leaves no opportunity of professional development and education. She has done Quality Management lead auditors course, Advance Certificate Course in Medical Education, Seven online courses on Research, Public Health and allied topics from Michigan University and John Hopkins University with 100% grades. She has also done Quality Management in Health Care course from Health Sciences Academy. She has attended/ participated in more than 75 workshops/ seminars / webinars, national and international, during the last 10 years. She is a confident person at conferences and teacher in class room with the ability to communicate the audience at all levels. She has remained facilitator/ Incharge / organizer of multiple research workshops/ World Health days/ Pink Ribbon days etc

She has 9 research publications so far to her credit in peer reviewed international and national medical journals. She has supervised multiple undergraduate and post graduate research projects. She is reviewer of national and international medical journals. A number of her research projects are under process of publication. She has also won Foundation University Internal Funded research project 2019.

She has a keen interest in Public health and research. She has focused on building the linkage of preventive medicine to clinical medicine among the future doctors. As a faculty bestowed with the opportunity of close interaction with the future doctors, strives to contribute in building professionalism, ethics and the seven star qualities of doctors among the medical students.
